Simple Breath Work Technique
Simple Breath Work The following breath work was taught to me by a woman named Andrea Caldiero. At the time, she was working for a company called The Starting Point, Inc. based in New Jersey. The Starting Point is subcontracted by the Philadelphia Water Department to aid its employees in overcoming addictions and traumatic experiences as well as in educating them about nutrition, wellness, yoga, etc. It's a very forward-thinking company.
Andrea gave a multi-week class on Integrative Nutrition at my job site and she and I had an immediate connection. I hired her as my personal nutritionist and we worked through phone sessions. She is where I learned most of my nutritional knowledge and she is who turned me onto organics, local food, sustainable farming, and so forth.
Eventually, we began talking about energy and personal spiritual enlightenment (non-religious). She turned me to books like "The Celestine Prophecy," and "The Mastery of Love," and "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior." She was becoming my spiritual counselor. I then ran into some money problems (which I've had since) and was unable to continue paying her. She said we could go on my word that I would pay her in the future. After so many weeks, I told her that I was unable to promise that I could pay her any more than what I owed and that it would be for my own peace of mind that we suspend our work together. I just didn't want to end up not being able to keep my word. So, I sent her a check and for a while we kept in touch through e-mail. Then she went on a trip to a known energy vortex site and I heard from her once when she returned, and have heard nothing since. Her professional website no longer exists.
Wherever you are, Andrea Caldiero, I owe you so much gratitude. You set me on my current path in life. The path I was meant to follow. And it may be true that people come into our lives for a reason and fade out when their work with us is complete, as we do with others, but I wish I could meet with you once more to express my gratitude and joy.
This is the breath work technique Andrea taught me and it works very well to regain energy, focus, and calm. I suggest doing it once per day to begin with, and as often as possible after you've managed to commit it to memory (through repetition, of course):
Breath Work
1. Clearing Energy (7x)
Start from the center of the body and take a deep breath from the belly… hold breath for a second.
Turn head to left shoulder, exhaling through mouth to the right shoulder and back to center. Practice becoming concise with your breath, finishing each breath before moving to the next sequence.
At the end of the last breath, drop chin into the chest and exhale the rst of the energy through the mouth.
Remember to have the INTENTION to clear your energy. It's all about intention!
2. Reclaiming Energy (7x)
Start from your chin on your right shoulder and take a deep breath while moving head over to your left shoulder.
Exhale while moving back to your right shoulder.
Have the intention to RECLAIM ENERGY.
3. Rebuilding Energy (7x)
Take a deep breath from center of belly. Visualize pulling the energy up to the top of your head.
Exhale through your teeth visualizing the energy flowing down your head, down your neck, down your arms, out your hands, down your chest, all the way down your legs and out through the feet. Remember to push the energy out your hands and feet.
Try to do this breath for as long as you can.
Thanks, Andrea!
